#Don: Crowd pleaser
Cibi Chakravarthi is very clear on what is to be made and his conviction speaks during the final laps of the film.
Chakaravarthi aka Don (Sivakarthikeyan) is in quest of his true talent. His father (Samuthrakani) and his college principal Bhoominathan (SJ Suryah) are his foes. How Don manages to succeed is what makes the plot.
Sivakarthikeyan is a brilliant performer. The audiences have happily designated SK with an absolute license to go to any extent, to entertain them. SK makes use of every zone of commercial and slays it. Don has the perfect cast. Traveling across emotions and messages, the director has managed to get the right actors to deliver these. Samuthrakani and SJ Suryah we’re brilliant while Priyanka Arul Mohan was cute enough for the hero’s lady.
Anirudh gets into your heads with his tune. The spectacular album makes the wrong placements go unnoticed. The background was nothing extraordinary until the final scenes. KM Bhaskaran’s frames were good as was the narration of the film. The film could have undergone a thorough edit once more as it would have tightly packaged the whole deal.
Cibi Chakravarthy has serious influences from his mentor Atlee. The grandeur and the knack for handling emotional scenes are very much from Atlee’s school of filmmaking. But it works!
